Abisko Pathfinder's 3L trousers are shell trousers made from innovative and renewable 100% bio-based polyamides extracted from plant-based oils and food waste, which leaves a much smaller footprint in the entire production process, for example 3x less greenhouse gas emissions compared to normal polyamides. Completely PFC-free water repellent treatment in combination with electrospun membrane results in a long-lasting outdoor companion with a superior soft feel, good breathability and waterproofness.
This is a product for passionate outdoor loving people who are environmentally conscious and value function, comfort and quality, to use for all hikes and everyday adventures in changing weather. The trousers have been produced with high quality fabrics and zippers to last for many years to come. A completely new material has been created in close collaboration with the fabric supplier. During development, the focus was on creating an extra environmentally sustainable garment in waterproof fabric with high breathability.
The shell trousers are waterproof with taped seams. The fabric has a high breathability which is perfect for trekking, hiking or other activities with a higher activity level. The trousers are light in weight and therefore excellent to bring in the backpack. The fabric is designed for high activity and has mechanical stretch, which gives good comfort during all kinds of movements, while the construction provides an exceptional fit. You’ll find four zippered pockets and the leg ends are reinforced and can be adjusted with a drawstring. The legs also have zippers that can be opened both from above and below for ventilation if needed. All zippers are of the YKK Aquaguard® zipper type, which is water repellent, which means that water does not get in that way either. The waist can be adjusted with an integrated belt, the belt loops of which are equipped with small fabric hooks where you can hang your equipment if you need to.
The trousers also have an integrated RECCO® reflector in case of extreme weather or should an accident occur during your adventure. RECCO® is a rescue technique used by organized rescue teams to locate people lost in the wilderness or buried in an avalanche. The reflector can be described as a small antenna that is integrated in the trousers and is thus always with you. It is always active as it is neither powered by batteries nor needs to be started. In action, the rescue team uses a RECCO® detector which sends out a signal that hits the reflector and bounces back allowing the reflector to be located. With an integrated RECCO® reflector, you can feel safer during outdoor activities, e.g. when picking mushrooms and berries and when hiking in the mountains.
