Together we can make a difference
Our commitment is directed towards contributing to a brighter future, and we are convinced that collaboration is the cornerstone of success. That's why we are active in various initiatives, where we work together with other companies to strive for sustainable development. By pooling our strengths, we can achieve meaningful change and really make a difference. Below, you can read more about our initiatives and collaborations.
Amfori BSCI
Since 2016, Pinewood has been a part of amfori BSCI, an organization that assists us in developing and improving social responsibility within our supply chains. Through our membership in amfori, we are able to form connections with other companies, and together we strive to make a greater impact in achieving safer and better working conditions within our supply chains. To attain sustainable development, it is crucial for all stakeholders – companies, governmental entities, authorities, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and customers – to collaborate. Today, amfori BSCI comprises over 2000 member companies, all of which undergo audits based on the same code of conduct. The amfori BSCI Code of Conduct refers to international conventions such as the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Children's Rights and Business Principles, the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines, the UN Global Compact, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions and recommendations, which are pertinent for improving working conditions in the supply chains.

REACH
We require our suppliers to comply with the EU's chemical legislation, REACH. It is an EU regulation that came into effect in 2007 and contains legislation around chemicals. The regulation applies in all member states and serves as a common law throughout the EU. REACH means that all chemicals within the EU must be identified and investigated to ensure a high level of protection for the environment and health. At Pinewood, we are careful to ensure that all our suppliers follow the REACH requirements, and we conduct ongoing spot checks.

KEEP SWEDEN TIDY
Pinewood is proud to be a collaborative partner with Keep Sweden Tidy and a member of Corporates Against Litter. Keep Sweden Tidy is a non-profit organization that works to prevent people from littering. Littering is a major problem in cities, nature, and oceans. It doesn't matter where it's thrown, litter on land becomes litter in the sea, and litter in the city also affects nature – and animals. And it's easy to do as everyone else does. A place that is already littered is at risk of becoming even more so. Therefore, we need more people who don't litter. Keep Sweden Tidy works to change people's behavior and strengthen the norm that it's not okay to litter. Through measurements and surveys, they gather knowledge and develop concrete tools for municipalities, schools, businesses, politicians, and other social actors so they can help reduce littering.

Oeko-Tex® Standrad 100
Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a global labeling standard that sets limits for known environmentally and health-hazardous substances. Despite previous European chemical legislation, Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 places stricter requirements on several of these substances and also sets its own limits on several hazardous substances that are not yet covered by this legislation. A product can be certified in four different product classes based on who is intended to use the product and how close to the skin the product is intended to be used. All parts of the product must meet the standard for it to comply with the requirements for a certain class. When applying for certification, this is checked by an authorized testing institute, and they may also conduct unannounced spot checks to ensure that the products meet the requirements. Since each product receives a unique certificate number included on the product's labeling, one can check on the Oeko-Tex® website to verify the validity of the labeling.
At Pinewood, we have several products that meet the requirements of Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, and we always label these garments with both a hangtag and a label on the care instructions. We are constantly working to expand this range.
